I am preparing for my Carolan concert in a couple of weeks time, and today I made up the posters ready to be put around town.
I thought I would use the portrait of Carolan for the poster, seeing as I am planning to play an entire programme of Carolan tunes. However when I came to print them out I found the big colour printer is playing up – I think it needs new toners.
I tried a black and white version of the poster using the engraving of Carolan’s portrait, but it looked a bit plain with just black print.
So I got out my box of watercolours and I have hand-coloured a whole set of the posters with the engraved portrait. Now they have to dry and then they can be sent out around town.
